Long time no see! As I warned you, this time the devlog was a bit delayed. But there are quite a few changes! Finally, the game got to the point where I can bump the version to 0.2! Okay, maybe it's too early for that, actually xD. But my personal feeling is that progress is quite significant and I wanted to mark it somehow. So, now for more details.

Encounters

Following the stuck girl, some work has beed done on updating Onsen encaunter as well.


And by "some" I mean "a lot": updated tiles, updated girl behavior, and most importantly, an updated story! In terms of text, the encounter is really extensive; I'm not a fan of counting the exact number of words, but you can imagine - 15 pages in 11pt font in Word xD.

But I'm sure, with some effort and tact you can accomplish much more (if you know what I mean).

Other events have not been left out either: in the encounter with the stuck girl, missing tiles have been added, and in the mini encounter with the satyresses, the placeholders have been replaced by a full story (text and images).

Audio

The noises made by the girls during sex and fondling are now more diverse. It's not the final version yet, but it's already better than one single moan for all occasions! Corresponding sound effects now accompany the use of food, potions and scrolls. Also, footstep sounds have been reintroduced: they now depend on the type of surface the character is walking on.

That's not the important thing though, and important thing is: the intro and the first scene with the Succubus now have a voiceover! A real one, with a human voice xD. I might be biased, of course, but I think the scene is completely transformed with it. Here's a little teaser from the beginning of it:

There's no music in this scene so far - I've gone through loads of options, but I didn't like anything. However, after a couple of minutes there, it starts to get so hot that you won't even pay attention to the lack of music xD.

Gallery

I hadn't originally planned to include it in this release, but I had some free time while I waited for certain resources, so I took it up.


This is what the list of illustrations for an individual character will look like. You can use the arrows to switch between the characters. So far only catgirl, vampire and the Succubus are here, but more will be added soon (including characters from the encounters).


This is what the full-size image will look like. It can be moved and scaled! You should be able to see all, even the smallest details xD. You can also view complete scenes, not just just static images! This has been implemented in a rather fun way: when you want to view a particular scene, I simply load the game from a certain point and take control away from the player. It's certainly not as clever a trick as rebooting the Xbox behind the loading screen, but it's not like my game is Morrowind either xD. Anyway, it works, so I'm happy with it. 

Character phrases

This is one of the key features of the game, and it should have been implemented a long time ago, but I've only managed to make it more or less decent now xD. I'm talking about the Hades-like system of picking up character lines. Every time you meet a significant character (such as Succubus), they'll say something special to you. Usually it will be a comment about something that happened in the game: the results of a certain encounter, the reason for the last defeat, the player's answers in the survey before the game... The tone of the character will change depending on her attitude towards the hero. Ideally, the player will never hear the same phrase twice! Of course, at this stage the pool of lines is still too small to be never repeated at all - but at least for the first twenty times they will be unique. Naturally, work on expanding the pool will be ongoing.

Miscellaneous

  • When one of the player's stats (attributes / liquids) changes, it's accompanied by a little animation. It took an ungodly amount of time, but my God, how beautiful it looks with the use of ReactiveX! (I'm referring to the code, not the animation itself, if anything. The animation is rather modest).
  • To spice up interactions with NPCs a bit, particles are now used: for example, if you fondle a girl (and she likes it), you'll see a swarm of hearts over her!
  • Credits screen has been added to the game - it can be accessed from the main menu. I have some very cool and talented people helping me create this game; everyone should know that!
  • Controls have been updated: if you don't have the NumPad, you can make the character move using the arrow buttons, as well as by simply clicking in the desired direction! Moving between locations can be done with the space bar.
  • Bazillion bugs fixed (and another two bazillions are still waiting for their time to be discovered)

In conclusion

There were some breaking changes again, so the save from previous version won't work - please clear the cache to start from scratch (you can find how to do this in the previous devlog - scroll to the very bottom). This is the last time, I promise - in future updates, I'll introduce versioning for save files.

I'm ready to declare that I've reached an "acceptable" level of polish - it's not ideal, of course, and I may have missed something important, but so far there's nothing for my eye to catch on to. This means that now the real work can begin, namely filling the game with content. I'm going back to the "thorough devlog once a month" schedule; more frequent news (once a week) can still be found on Reddit (and now on Discord too).
